So what's new…

Yes for the past 2 and half days I've been working like a madman on my Blacletter font, BlackSwirl. In that time I've produced and extra 3 versions of the lowercase. I only planned to remake the original lowercase at first and then just clean up the and dodgy kerning and spacing. But NO I had to bloody silly and produce more!!! WHY!!!!

So now I have an extra 78 brand new glyphs making a grand total of 284. I'd like to round that upto 300 if possible…

But I had a nightmare of a day when Fontlab gave me constant ERROR message saying the Ascenders/Desceners Bbox didn't total up. So I've been stumped and frustrated all reading all the jargon on how the bbox should add up. But I was still baffled by the Techno speak of the manual.

Finally about 2 hours ago I read from a type design forum member all I needed to do was make sure they totaled a certain amount. And so I made that happen and voila…no more error message and all the alternates and new characters work in Opentype. Splendid!!!

Now I have to make several ligatures, something else I hadn't planned on doing but during tests I found several glyphs clashed.

So back to the sketchbook and Fontlab.

I'll be posting a few test images shortly, so I'd love to hear what you think of the new changes.
